Green Beans with Hazelnuts

Ingredients

1 pound green beans, ends trimmed and cut into 3-inch lengths

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 cup Diamond Hazelnuts, chopped

1 cup minced green onion

½ red bell pepper, julienned

2 cloves garlic, minced
-
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme leaves, minced

½ teaspoon kosher salt

½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Directions
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil over high heat. Add the green beans and cook until tender-crisp, about 2 minutes. Drain. Immediately plunge into ice water; drain again and pat dry. Set aside.
In a large sauté pan, melt the butter and oil together over medium-high heat. Add the hazelnuts; cook, stirring, until toasted and fragrant, about 3 minutes. Add the green onion, red pepper, garlic, thyme, salt and pepper; cook, stirring, until fragrant, about 2 minutes. Add the green beans; heat through, stirring, about 3 minutes. Serve immediately.
