Chocolate Chip Cookie Bark

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup butter, soften to room temperature (1 stick is 1/2 cup)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1 cup Diamond of California® Chopped Walnuts, divided
  • 3 cups chocolate chips, divided
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

The Steps

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 375 and line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Sift the flour, salt and baking soda into a bowl, set aside.
  3. In the bowl of an electric mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, beat the butter for 1 minute. Add the sugar and brown sugar and continue to mix on medium-high speed for 3 minutes, until mixture is light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg and then the vanilla, scraping down the sides of the bowl and mixing until fully incorporated between each addition.
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the mixing bowl and mix until just combined.
  6. Fold ½ cup of walnuts and 1 ½ cups chocolate chips into the batter.
  7. Scoop all of the dough into your prepared pan and use a spatula to spread it in an even layer, bake for 12-14 minutes.
  8. Allow the cookie sheet to cool completely after baking.
  9. Melt the remaining dark chocolate in the microwave for 1 minute and 30 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds to prevent burning. Repeat with the white chocolate.
  10. Pour the dark chocolate over the cooled cookie and spread it into an even layer.
  11. Pour the white chocolate over the dark and use a toothpick to swirl it.
  12. Sprinkle remaining walnuts on top and refrigerate until chocolate is set
  13. Cut into pieces before serving.
