Banana and Orange Breakfast Smoothie

Serves 2

 

  1. Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth and frothy.
  2. Pour into two glasses.
  3. Accompany each serving with half a toasted bagel and 1 tablespoon fruit preserves.

Directions

  • 1 orange, peeled, sectioned, and seeded if necessary
  • 1 banana, peeled and sliced
  • ¾ cup nonfat milk
  • ¾ cup nonfat plain yogurt, or nonfat fruit yogurt
  • ¼ cup wheat bran
  • ¼ cup (1 ounce) chopped California walnuts
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla
